Panko Crusted Green Lipped Mussels
Our green lipped mussels are grown in the pristine waters of New Zealand and look every bit as good as they taste, with an attractive green tint to the lip of the shell. Packed to the brim with nutrients from the sea, they contain more omega-3 than black mussels and are guaranteed chemical and additive free.
This recipe takes our plump and juicy mussels and gives them the party platter treatment with a deliciously crispy, seasoned panko batter.
An elegant appetizer that is easy to prepare and even easier to eat! These breaded mussels are the perfect finger food and will really add some class to your next party!
Sealand Green Lipped Mussels
1 ½ cups Panko breadcrumbs
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tbsp parsley (minced)
¼ tsp salt and pepper
Pinch chili flakes (optional)
⅓ cup olive oil or melted butter
Preheat broiler to low
Place all dry topping ingredients in mixing bowl and combine
Add olive oil or melted butter and stir until mixture is crumbly and moist (add more oil/butter if too dry)
Lay defrosted mussels in single layer in baking dish, shell side down
Apply crumb topping evenly over mussels
Drizzle olive oil over top
Broil until golden
Serve immediately and enjoy!
