Sealand Quality Foods' Tuna Carpaccio recipe is a delicate and refined dish that showcases the fresh, clean flavours of the sea. The dish features thinly sliced Sealand Tuna Saku blocks, finely diced red onions and minced jalapeño, which introduce a subtle sharpness and optional heat that complements the richness of the tuna.
Drizzled with high-quality olive oil and accented with the tang of lime wedges and the briny pop of capers, this carpaccio is a symphony of flavours that's both simple and sophisticated. The dish can be elegantly served on toasted baguette slices and garnished with arugula or greens, making it a perfect appetizer for those who appreciate the art of fine cuisine and the irresistible combination of Ahi tuna with vibrant, fresh ingredients.
A refined appetizer that combines fresh Ahi tuna with subtle onion and jalapeño, served on toasted baguette slices, and garnished with arugula or greens.
Unwrap the Tuna Saku blocks and place them on a plate in the fridge until partially frozen. This allows for easier slices.
Use a very sharp knife and slice the tuna into paper thin slices, as thin as you can.
Start from the smaller side of the block and slice.
Once all tuna is sliced start arranging it on a platter.
Leave a third of the platter empty so you can add the greens and baguettes.
Start adding the toppings over the tuna: onions, jalapeños, capers, olive oil, salt and pepper and lime juice.
The tuna carpaccio is ready!
Serve it as is with a fork, or on crusty bread.
Enjoy right away!
Note: It’s best to add the lime juice right before serving only as it will cure the tuna. If making this in advance, add lime juice right before serving.
